Who We Are

Dynalytix ("we," "us") is a research project run by Jolie Abadir. It is building a labeled dataset of climbing movement, and it operates two things: this website, and the labeling platform at collect.dynalytix.net. Dynalytix is not a company selling a product, and it is not a medical or clinical service. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What We Collect

If you sign up for updates on this website

Your email address and, if you choose one, a role (climber, physical therapist, researcher, or other). We use these only to send project updates and to know who is interested.

If you create an account on the labeling platform

Your email address and a password. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider; we never see your password. You will receive a confirmation email when you register.

Videos

The climbing videos you choose to upload. Video shows a person, so it is identifiable. Please only upload video of yourself, or of people who have agreed to it.

Pose data

Body landmark positions, joint angles, velocities, and center of mass, computed from each frame of your video. At present this computation runs in your browser; it may move to our servers in the future. Either way, the video itself is uploaded and stored.

Labels

What you enter while labeling: the wall and holds, the type of move, how it turned out, and sensation tags such as pain, instability, or fatigue, with a body location and a 0 to 10 level. Sensation tags describe how your body felt, so treat them as sensitive. Enter only what you are comfortable having used in research.

How We Use It

• •To build a labeled research dataset of climbing movement
• •To let you and the project's researchers label video and review label quality, including comparing how different labelers describe the same video
• •To publish research about the dataset and what it shows, in aggregate or de-identified form
• •To send you updates about the dataset, the labeling pilot, and the paper, if you signed up for them

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not currently provide personalized analysis, scoring, or injury predictions. No machine learning model has been trained on this data yet. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.

Planned Dataset Release

We plan to release a de-identified dataset alongside a research paper. That release would contain pose data and labels only. It would not contain video, email addresses, or account information.

One thing to understand before you contribute: once a dataset has been published, copies that other people have downloaded cannot be recalled. If you ask us to delete your data before a release, it will not be included. If you ask after a release, we will remove it from our systems and from any future version, but we cannot remove it from copies already downloaded.

Storage and Security

Videos, pose files, and exports are kept in private cloud object storage. Account data, pose data, and labels are kept in a hosted Postgres database with per-user access rules, so one labeler cannot read another labeler's data. The project's researchers can access contributed data for labeling and quality review. All traffic uses HTTPS.

No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will tell you.

Services We Rely On

• •Supabase: sign-in, and the database that holds pose data and labels

• •Resend: sending the confirmation and update emails from this website

These providers process data on our behalf and have their own privacy policies. We do not sell your information, and we do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

The Earlier Movement Assessment Prototype

The deep squat assessment prototype linked from this site is a paused demonstration. It is not a medical device or a clinical service, and it is not maintained. Please do not upload video of patients or enter anyone's health information there.

How Long We Keep It

Update sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Labeling accounts are kept while they are active. Videos, pose data, and labels are kept for the life of the research project, so that pose data can be re-extracted with better models later, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Your Choices

• •Ask what information we hold about you, and get a copy of it
• •Ask us to correct something that is wrong
• •Ask us to delete your account, videos, pose data, and labels (see the note above about published datasets)
• •Stop receiving updates at any time by replying to any email or writing to us

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. Write to us and we will honor them.

Children

This project is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects data you have already contributed, we will email labeling-platform users before it takes effect.
